Shop goes up tonight apparently - looks interesting. Looks like it will be what Darkfall should have been.

Me and my buddy were actually looking at this. It seems like it'll be a lot of fun.

ya, doesnt look that great
right ive been in game a few hours now, and the game world looks good, the sky is simply amazing - oddly somthign i dont notice in mmos usually, the graphics of the characters are a little on the basic side, and it definetly needs the extra time for polish theyve given them self.
on the other hand the game is nothing short of very hardcore, full looting of everything on you, equiped and in bags, theres no quests, instead you choose what to do, theres no levels, its all based on skills you use and level up, and remove as you dont need them / want to do somthign else.
everything is player crafted pretty much, and theres alot of depth to it, for example you choose the type of materials to go into a composite bow, and the ammounts of the materials, armour is made up of 7 or 8 pieces, each of which you choose 2 materials for, the otuer layer, and inner, along with the thickness of the material, so thicker = strogner but slower.
combat is real time entirely in first person, if you train in thievery you can steal anything not bolted down if your not caught
you need to tame your own mount / pets and they can wander off if not tied to somthing aparantly.
i think the best description of it would be a first person shadowbane, ive no idea how big the world is as theres no map - you need to discover and map it yourself, but i get a feeling its pretty huge, aparantly open beta should be starting soon - which alas i didnt know when i just paid out the rather heavy price to buy it lol
it is a monthly subscription, and i think itll keep me busy for a while, and the depth of it will be enough to overlook the gfx, although it is a bit confusing to begin with - ok infuriating - as it starts you off naked - and properly naked no underwear here lol - and it doesnt even give you any idea what to do to begin with lol
if anyone does look at it, first thing to do is go to the nearest buildings and look for npcs, press R at all of them til you find the black smith and tell him to giv you some stuff, youll then have a basic axe to mine / chop trees with and some rags, and then your best to head off to mine some rock, refine it and make it into a basic weapon of some sort rinse repeat til you fele brave enough to venture out and hunt somthign lol - but not before youve found out where the local priest is - as when you die you need to find your way to him to res - naked - and go collect your gear you lost.
if anyone wants to know anything else, ask and ill see if i canc ome up with an answer.
