Lineage 2?? Old school checking in

Hey guys,


Most all of you, in fact maybe all but 3 or 4 of you, may remember who I am but my name was Sequence and I played as a Silver Ranger back on Sieghardt in the retail Lineage 2 days.

I remember playing with Nitro, Redrum, Lisa, and a few others. Back when it was KoS/IC vs Tempest when Antharas Lair/ Cruma Tower / Dragon Valley were the places to be. I eventually ended up joining IC when the game started losing its drive.

Anyways, I was playing SWTOR until recently (the game just messed up in too many ways) and found that they just did a massive update to Lineage 2 and made it completely free, and opened 3 new servers. They did this becasue they announced Lineage 3 which will come out ina couple years. I've been having a blast playing, they re did a bunch of it, and it has that old L2 feel.

Just figured I'd check in and see if anyone was around, remembers playing, or would be interested in hoping back in.

Interesting. I have wanted to play L2 Retail for a long time. But the biggest thing that is holding people back, is the adena sales/botters/farmers. Are there any new measures in place to stop/prevent that?

Not really, however I've found that it is not nearly as much of a problem as before. Mostly becasue the game is free now, and adena isn't as much of a need. You will still have the occasional botter, but nothing like what it was.

We had the very first Castle Seige on my server the last week. One alliance took down 7 of them. The server is just as populated as they were on retail because there's only 5.

Added 8 new "hero" classes and a whole new slew of dungeons and zones.

their patcher is stuck on 1.0.0.4 to 1.0.0.5 patch file for me, wont move for 30 mins :-/

Ahh Alyomar I remember that name! A bit more have started to come back to me..I've been looking around for some of the old Tempest/Inner Circle guys as well, some are still alive and kicking.


Also, make sure your joining the Bartz server, it is the newest of the servers (opened December 15th) and is designed to be the server that older players recognize and come back to. Plus it's the only North American siege schedule.


it's funny too, I've been talking it up on the boards, KoS, Tempest, IC, and the whole Carebear Alliance is still quasi famous in the L2 world...everyone has heard of it at some point.

Also, the way it works now, is they have streamlined the game from level 1 - 85. It should only take you about 3 weeks to get to 85. They give you all the gear you need through questing (D grade through A grade). Once you hit 85, its basically the good old lineage we are used to. The 85+ grind is about equal to retail, with max level being 99.


What I like the most is all the politics are still there, PvP still feels scary, and there is life beyond waiting for queues/instances. If you go to Giran or Aden or some of the newer towns, the place is PACKED, just like it used to be.

Personally i'm waiting for tera, already pre-ordered and have played the japanese version to 28.

I don't think so...it doesn't take much to build a base and recruit some decent players. I already have six or seven people starting up again.

Ive had more fun leveling from one to fifty the past week then I have playing wow, swtor, rift ever....except for maybe the beginning of wow pre BC, so I don't see why we couldn't put together a decent guild and make an impact on the server.

If I hadn't just paid good money for swtor, I would have definitely been up for this. Unfortunately swtor will most likely be a long term resting place for me, unless something really bogus happens that results in the game going offline (unlikely). If that were to happen though, L2 would be certainly next in line.

We started a guild and got the Proof of Blood to give us an emblem last night, we called teh clan Icon. If anyone is interested in playing any former KoS is more then welcome.

What happend to all the old accounts, with most having lvl 45 to 60 on them

I think all the old accounts are still there, however Seighardt no longer exists. They re made the old Bartz 2 months ago so its fresh and for NA time zone.
